Develop Good Study habits and Avoid bad Studying Habits to prepare for any competitive exams and for your School Exams

Good Study Habits

The main problem students currently facing are they are not remembering what they read for their exams. Sometimes they forget almost everything they read after one week and unable to remember anything. This forgetfulness is because of bad method of studies. So here we are discussing about some reading techniques. This article will tell you about good methods of study and bad method of studies. Just check whether you are towards good methods or bad.

Rules for Good Studying

Use Recall : After reading a portion try to recall the main ideas in the content by closing your eyes. If you are able to recall what you have read it means you understand the main ideas. You can try to recall things while you are walking or traveling in a bus or train.
Test Yourself : Conduct tests by yourself. Try whether you can solve a problem.
Chunking Problems: When a new problem arrives after reading the solution and steps make a revision through your mind. Try to solve all the steps of solution in mind.
Solve Different Type of Problems: Try to solve different type of problems  Solving same kind of problems like mimicking never make any improvement.
Morning Study : The best time for studying for all is in the early morning. But nobody like to wake up in early morning. If you can read the hardest topics in the morning, because we are fresh at that time.
Breaks: take breaks when you are unable to solve or understand a topic. So that you can analyze the problems or the topic in your mind.
Ask Questions yourself: When you unable to understand a topic just ask simple questions. Just try to tell the concepts to a ten year old child or simplify the concepts to tell the concept to a ten year old child.
Turn off accessories : Concentrate in your study and turn off all gadgets and accessories. Switch off your mobile phone or put it on silent mode and turn off Wifi or Mobile data.
25 minute timer : make a 25 minute timer for your study. For a person the max time he can concentrate on a work / study is 25 minutes. So study for 25 minutes and take a relaxation. During the relaxation you can recall.
Learn Different Subjects: Learn different subjects in a day like solving different problems. This will make your mind more diverse.
Mental Contrast : make a mental contrast by making a dream career.

Bad Studying methods

Passive reading : Simply reading a page or content passively doesn't looks good. Even if you read it more than two times passively doesn't make any sense and you never understand the concepts.
Highlighting: highlighting in your text book or notebook is a not a good method of study. So do not study by highlighting
Neglecting : Never say you know the problem before you try to solve. Even though you solved it previously you may forget some steps in the problem. So neglecting a problem by saying you already know it is not good.
Last Minute Study : Do not wait for your last bell for the study. Study whenever you are getting time, or make time for the study
Repetition: Repeating a problem in the same day doesn't sounds good.
Combine Study : Combine study shouldn't become a chat session.
Neglecting Text book : Do not neglect text books before trying to solve problems. You have to understand the concepts before trying to solve a problem. text books will help you to understand the concepts.
Not asking Doubts: When ever you are having a doubt ask others. Not asking doubts is not good
Studying With PC/ Mobile: It also disturb our mind for study
Sleepless Study : Sleepless study is also a bad thing. You have to sleep for at least six hours continuous sleep
