How to Study Indian History For SSC, PSC Competitive Exams

For most of the Competitive Examination Indian History has an Important role to get Success. Here is the Way to Study Indian History For Competitive Examination

In All SSC Examinations like MTS, CHSL, CGL, JE as well as Various State PSC Examinations General Awareness has an importance. In MTS, CHSL and CGL Examination out of 100 questions 25 questions will be from general awareness. Where as in various States PSC like Kerala PSC out of 100 questions 50 to 80 questions will be from General Awareness.
General Awareness includes World Geography and History, Indian Geography and History, Indian Constitution, Polity, Economics and so on.

Ancient India : Ancient India has least importance in Indian History for competitive Examinations. It starts from 1500 BC when the Indus Valley Civilization came. here we should know about the Neolithic Age, Indus River, Mohenjodaro, Harappa, River Ravi, and Who discovered these civilizations etc.
We should also learn about Kalibangan, Different Vedas(Rigveda, Yajurveda, Samaveda, Adharva Veda) etc
We must know about Gautam Budha and Budhism.
We should also learn about Sangham age, tamil kingdom of sangam Age, Various poets and their Works in Sangham Age
Other topics in Ancient India is Ancient Dynasties, Famous Kings like Ashoka, Chandragupta Maurya. harshavardhana, guptas, Chalukyas, Cholas, Kanishka, Vikramaditya. And famous writers and Poets in their kingdom like Kautilya, Panini etc
These are the main topics which will be asked in various competitive Examinations in India.

Medieval India : Medieval India also has less importance in Competitive Examination. In Medieval India we should learn different Muslim Dynasty like Slave Dynasty (1206-1290), Khilji Dynasty (1290-1320), Tugluq Dynasty (1320-1412), sayyid Dynasty (1414-1450), Lodhi Dynasty(1451-1526) etc and famous rulers in each dynasty and their important constructions, method of ruling, important books.

Modern India
Modern India is the Most Important topic to study for your competitive Examinations. This can be divided into different subjects Like arrival of Europeans in India, Famous Governors and governor generals of English, Portuguese, Dutch and French. Wars fought between English Army and Indian People. Governor general and Viceroys of English and their important contributions towards Indian.
Different Nationalist Movements before Independence like Chauri Chaura incident, Non- co Operation Movement, Rawlatt Act 1919, Jallianwalla Bagh, Khilafat Movement, Simon Commission, Bardoli Satyagraha, Civil Disobedience Movement, Quit India Movement, etc
After Independence: All things that happened after Independence is important in this section. The first Cabinet of Independent India, Prime Ministers of india, Presidents of India, Supreme Court Judges in India, First Women in various positions, Indo-Pak wars and Indo-China War, Different operations handled by Indian Army like Operation blue Star etc.
You can expect 3-7 questions from Modern India in various competitive examinations.

How to Study Indian History?

There is no easy way to Study on Indian History. You have to study well at least in the Topic Modern History of India.
